This is the last day of Christmas break. So sad to see it end. The only good thing about it is getting back to a regular routine. I do so much better with a routine.

Scrappy Challenges & A Template Freebie

It's January!! It's 2009!!

I can't believe how time is flying. I had the most wonderful news yesterday! It's so wonderful I'm keeping it to myself. Sometimes it ruins the feeling when too many people know. Stay tuned to my blog and I'll share it eventually! It's nothing scrap related.

Ok....on to challenges. Scrappy Thoughts has new challenges going up today. You must check them out. Here is the link to the forum. The great thing about these challenges is you can earn points just by participating and you can use your points to buy things in our wonderful shop.

I'm hosting two challenges this month. The first is the Scavenger Hunt. You get a list of ten things to search for in the gallery. Find them and post them in the forum. You get 20 pts for participating.

The second challenge is the Template Challenge. I went all out this month and I created a template for you to use. Download the template here on my blog and post it at Scrappy Thoughts to earn your points. I'm posting the template below.

I just finished my new kit. I'm a teacher and my class has just finished reading, Westing Game. My favorite character from the story is Sydelle Pulaski. She is a woman who constantly feels sorry for herself. She does all she can to make others notice her. Her crafty crutches inspired my kit. I think should would be pleased. Just enough glam to make others stop to notice.

It's the weekend!!! I just love TV at this time of year, they have all the wonderful holiday movies on. I have DVR'd several until I have time to watch them. The ones that are getting priority now are: Grinch, Polar Express, and Tinker Bell. Katelyn obviously is getting first pick. I was surprised to see that Tinker bell was was on TV (...only days after Kate's grandma told me she bought it for her for Christmas....oh well!).

Update on the Haircut!

Katelyn finally talked Mommy into letting her get her hair cut. Katelyn knew exactly how she wanted her hair to look. She told Doris, our stylist, how long it needed to be and even showed her a picture in the book that looked like what she wanted. Katelyn was very prepared. Here is Katelyn showing of her long locks before we leave. Katelyn thought it was quite funny how her hair was piled on top of her head. When Katelyn saw the finished results, she glowed. This was exactly what she wanted!!! She told Mommy "Watch out, you're getting a NEW Katelyn!!" We had to show off our new do to Tammy, the babysitter. Tammy took a pic of Mommy and Katelyn.

Fall's End

I'm so excited!! Today is Monday, only one more day of school this week. I love holiday weekends! I'm a little nervous. On Wednesday, I scheduled an appointment with my hair stylist to get Katelyn's hair cut. She has been begging me for about 4 weeks now to get her hair cut! I was shocked when she told me she wanted it cut to (she pointed to her eye-level)here. I'm not sure how short we'll go but I know we're going short! I think it will be cute, I hope her curls will come back some more...I think the length is weighting them down. I'm clueless about curly hair, but I LOVE it!! What a busy week it has been. I'm leading the Christmas service at school for the middle school kids, so it will not slow down anytime soon. There is so much to do before the holidays, and on top of that I'm getting a cold! Just when I think I'm catching up, I find a hundred more things to do.

I'm going to be selling my designs at Scrappy Thoughts and Bouquet of Pixels. This is so much fun. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have a few products in each store. Yea! It's the weekend. What a busy weekend it will be. I can't wait until I get a free one. This weekend I have company coming and a fundraising auction to go to. Mid-quarters are done and sent home....so far no parents have called, so all is good!! First quarter of 6th grade is always a tough one! Munchkin, Peace, Preschool

Here is a new kit by Dreamscape Designs. It is a cute little boy kit. I even found ways to use it for my lil girl. I used this blingin' alpha from MoonDesigns on several of my layouts. It's cute and flashy. It includes uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and other symbols. This is a new kit by Scrappy Thoughts. It was a lot of fun and has a variety of elements. Here are my layouts using all the above kits: Here is a pic of Katelyn going to preschool on the first day. She was so excited and she LOVES her Tinker Belle backpack that uncle Andy gave her. She did have a few tears when Mommy left, but they didn't last long. She had a blast! She met new friends and got reacquainted with old ones. I can't believe it's only Wednesday. I was at school for almost 10 hours today...that is TOO long. I had two meetings after school and I had to get ready for a morning sub tomorrow. It took so long I had to go pick Kate up from daycare and bring her back to school with me so I could get my things organized for the sub. I sure hope I get into a routine soon. The reason I have a sub in the morning is I'm going to be busy being a Mommy! Katelyn is going to her first day of preschool tomorrow. I am taking off so I can take her to school and get LOTS of pictures and then I'll pick her up and take A LOT more pictures. I think we'll go out for a special lunch afterward, before I go back to school for the afternoon. She is so excited right now and she has several friends in her class already. I hope she remains excited. I hate tears!!

Still back at school for another work day. I spent the entire day trying to get my class schedule set...I'm still not finished. I have to find 15 minutes for one class...how can I create 15 minutes??? The only thing I did accomplish was getting my bulletin boards up. Now, at least my room looks like I'm ready!

It is the first week back to school for me. Today was registration so I met quite a few families. So much to do ...I didn't even get my bulletin boards up yet. I wish I could make them in photoshop and print them off!!! I think it will be a great year...just busy b/c I have 7 more students this year than last. School will start on Thursday! I can't believe summer vacation is over already !!!!!!!!

Bubblegum Paper and Doodles!

Look at this great paper pack from Opal Scraps. There are so many great textures on these papers and it goes beautifully with other elements and doodles that she has created. Here are some great doodle arrows. Aren't they fun?

This was a fun time last year when Katelyn was so fascinated with bubbles. The little bubble maker was such a challenge to keep the button pressed down. She still loves bubbles, especially blowing them.
